Your Anita Blake was the first urban fantasy I read & I really enjoyed it - at first. Why did you change the direction of the series? The stories went from tense action packed mysteries to erotica, many without any action. "Blood Noir" took place almost completely in a hotel room - just talk & sex - with the last chapter being a synopsis of the action rather than what would have been the focus earlier on.

(view spoiler)[I'll totally disagree with you on, Blood Noir, because I loved finding out Jason's background, meeting his family, and finding out their dark secrets. I enjoyed the political intrigue part of the plot, and the horror elements. There are erotic scenes in the book, yes, but Jason has to visit a hospital and see his father dying of cancer - that is not a book that never leaves the hotel room or is just talk and sex. Jason faced some incredibly hard issues in this book. Anita had to be his emotional support, and it was not a role that came easily to her. They both grew as characters and nearly died in this book. I guess every reader brings their own filter to a book, and you're entitled to your opinion, but I recently reread this book and I still loved it. As the writer it's really hard to reread your own work and not want to change things, so that Blood Noir passed that test is a high bar. (hide spoiler)]

Laurell K. Hamilton:
Will you next Anita Blake book consist of Edward getting married or Anita and Edward taking Peter on a hunt? You mentioned that Anita might take Micah/ Nathaniel to Thanksgiving in a book. Would she bring Jean Claude along (although her grandma was praying for her soul because of him)? Otherwise doesn’t it seem unfair Micah/Nathaniel gets to meet her family but Jean Claude doesn’t.

Hey! Im a huge fan. I started Anita, reread many times before I decided to read Merry as I felt like cheating on her. I found something in your style that just touches me deep and thats why I need your advice . I might be overreacting but since Sholto's dead I can't get over my grief .It has been 6 months and I'm still crying when I hear a song softer than heavy metal because it reminds me of him.How did you recover ?
