To answer questions about Mort, please sign up.

Mike The following image show all Discworld novels and how they relate. As you can see Mort is a separate series from the Rincewind novels (i.e. The Colour of Magic, The Light Fantastic, etc).

Chip I highly recommend starting with this one. I started with The Color of Magic and it took 6 years for a friend to convince me to try again with this one. To be clear, I now regret waiting 6 years.

Samantha This is the first Discworld novel I read and it was a good starting point. Because it is one of the first ones though I actually find the later ones a lot more interesting, once the world was a bit more built up. I would also recommend Going Postal as another good entry point though it is a lot further into the series, they do refer to other books and events occasionally, but nothing that's particularly confusing or especially important to know.
