Where did the idea/inspiration of the Lord's tattoos come from? And how did you determine which demon/affliction each lord would be paired with?

Gena Showalter When I researched Pandora's box, some of the stories referenced hope -- which was trapped beneath the evil -- as a butterfly. I knew I had to utilize that butterfly in some way. :)

Maddox, Lucien and Reyes are the only characters I specifically paired. I needed a reason for Maddox to kill Pandora upon his possession, as well as a reason for Reyes to be the one who kills Maddox every night and for Lucien to be the one who carries his spirit to and from death. The others were a little more random. Kind of a "you can be so and so," and "you can be so and so" type thing.
