Goodreads asked Michael Chrobak:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Michael Chrobak Just write. Sit down, start with one idea, and go for it. Write about something you know, start with your main character participating in a sport that you play, or involved in a hobby that you enjoy. Don't worry about it being perfect. Just write. You can go back and edit later.
And don't be tied to your writing. Have someone else edit it, either someone you trust and know has excellent grammar, or pay someone to do it. Their job is to make your work better, not to make you feel bad for the mistakes you made. Never take editing personal.
