Michael Chrobak So, so many. I think I have 90+ on my TBR list right now. Though, I'm definitely going to read Rise of the Sparrows by Sarina Langer; The Last Things by Regis Marin; the Darkness Falling series by R.R. Willica; Another Vagabond Lost to Love by Charlotte Eriksson; and The Martian by Andy Weir (I've seen the movie three times since its release)
Michael Chrobak This is a great question, since I believe my entire life has been a mystery. There is a purpose for every event, and no moment in life is ordinary. Perhaps the greatest mystery, however, is why I have been granted the insights that I have. Not everyone becomes spiritually awake. And not everyone who becomes awake stays there. This is what I will be delving into with the next series I will be starting, after my current ones end.
Michael Chrobak Anna - thanks for your question. I am about half-way through the first, rough draft of Book 2: The Paladin of Panama. Took a 4 month break to participate in NaNoWriMo 2016. Thanks for reading!
Michael Chrobak Although they aren't a literary couple, my favorite fictional couple would have to be Josiah and Abigail Bartlett from The West Wing. Sure, there are many, many more great romantic couples in literature - Gone With the Wind, Wuthering Heights, Jane Eyre, etc. But the relationship that Jeb and Abbey had was real. They weren't always kind, they weren't always the best of friends, but you could always tell underneath it that they were in love.
Michael Chrobak I think it has to be the freedom I've found. I can spend time reading all day, or I can spend time writing all day, or I can do a little of both, or neither. There really isn't any 'right' way to be a writer.
Michael Chrobak Mostly I'll go do something else for a while. Take a walk, take a nap, play a video game. Get my mind off what I'm working on and let it play around within it's own imagination. There's always something that happens out in the world that will spark my creative side, and the words start flowing again.
Michael Chrobak Just write. Sit down, start with one idea, and go for it. Write about something you know, start with your main character participating in a sport that you play, or involved in a hobby that you enjoy. Don't worry about it being perfect. Just write. You can go back and edit later.
And don't be tied to your writing. Have someone else edit it, either someone you trust and know has excellent grammar, or pay someone to do it. Their job is to make your work better, not to make you feel bad for the mistakes you made. Never take editing personal.
Michael Chrobak Currently I am working on Book 2 of the Brother Thomas series. The title will be The Paladin of Panama. I am also participating in the NaNoWriMo event this year, and am writing a completely different book for that as well. The working title for that is Where Angels Dwell. Both books will be out in Spring of 2017.
Michael Chrobak I really don't need much to start writing. Most days I just sit down at the computer and let my imagination flow onto the pages. That does require a bit more editing, but I've also been extremely surprised at how the story develops. Most often, the characters behave in ways I would never have planned for them had I thought it all out first.

Michael Chrobak I was working a Youth Retreat for my church. One of my jobs was to be the photographer. There were about a hundred or so teens there. On the final day of the retreat, I was taking group pictures of each small group when I started to notice teens I hadn't seen before. I mentioned this to the Youth Minister who said, "Yeah, it's almost like some of these kids are invisible."
Since I was a huge comic book fan as a kid, I started giving some of the teens superpowers based on their personality or character traits. This led me to consider what Christian Superheroes might look like, and what powers they might have. My first character was The Endlessly Dying Girl. She started the whole concept.
