Martha Hall Kelly Thanks so much, Cynthia! I'm thrilled to have made it this far, so honored and just blown away by the outpouring of support from readers. If I won I would sing it to the rooftops, since my whole goal in writing Lilac Girls was to tell the world about The Rabbits, these incredible women who endured terrible hardship and how Caroline helped them, a message of self-sacrifice and caring the world seems hungry for right now. Fingers crossed!

My church book club will be reading Lilac Girls this year. I loved the extra information (lost pictures of Caroline Ferriday, etc.). I can't wait to share those with the group. I first want to thank you for writing this amazing book and for sharing the stories of these women. It is so interesting (deeply and intensely) to me to read their different perspectives and to see how their lives are impacted by this war. On your website, I read about Caroline, but I am seeing it mentioned that two of the characters are actual people. Is this true? Who is the other one? Incredible book!
