I first want to thank you for writing this amazing book and for sharing the stories of these women. It is so interesting (deeply and intensely) to me to read their different perspectives and to see how their lives are impacted by this war. On your website, I read about Caroline, but I am seeing it mentioned that two of the characters are actual people. Is this true? Who is the other one? Incredible book!

Many of the characters in Lilac Girls are based on real people: Caroline, Herta, all of the Nazi doctors. Kasia and Zuzanna are based on two sisters imprisoned at Ravensbruck: Nina Ivanska and her sister Krystyna who was a doctor. Glad you enjoyed it, Cindy!

Lilac Girls really touched my heart. I see your next novel will be a prequel. Does this mean we'll meet all the Polish girls again and Herta as well? I'm so conflicted about the good doctor! Did she really believe she had no choice but to perform these surgeries? What would have happened to her had she not carried them out or was it a question of having bills to pay so why not keep a good paying job?

My question to you is how do I utilize social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, etc. to maximize exposure of my book to increase sales?
