Siracha asked Jessica Day George:

Do have any suggestions for a young writer who enjoys writing, but is having trouble sticking to it? It seems like any time I have a story idea, the motivation runs from me after a few days, and it's gotten to the point where I do still want to write, but I don't know what to write. It's slightly frustrating.

Jessica Day George And also pretty common. I have dozens and dozens of story "starts." Especially from when I was a teen. Sometimes you get the idea for a really great opening, but then when you write it down you realize it won't go anywhere after chapter three. I think it's fine to jump around a little, just make sure you keep everything you write. You may find that some of the ideas go together, or after putting something away for a few months, you're ready to come back to it and keep going. The important thing is just to write.
