Jessica Day George I'm sorry, I don't understand this question.
Jessica Day George If we're talking about my favorite book, A Christmas Carol, then it's for all ages!
Jessica Day George A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens

Also, The Muppet Christmas Carol is probably my favorite movie!
Jessica Day George I never say never, but I just don't have any plans to do another one at this time.
Jessica Day George Nope, still working on it! And trust me: as frustrated as you are with how long this is taking, I'm TWICE as frustrated!
Jessica Day George If your book is ready, and you find a publisher, why not?
Jessica Day George I'm glad you still love them! You're never too old for fun books!

There . . . might be more . . . that's all I will say about it.

As for Celie and Pogue, they're about four years apart. Which is huge when you're a teen, I know. But as of right now, it's mostly that she has a crush on him, and he thinks of her as a friend, so it's really nothing too crazy! I get sent fanfiction all the time detailing their wedding plans, and I'm like, SHE IS THIRTEEN. :)
Jessica Day George Not yet! I've got something coming in fall of 2026, but it's not officially announced yet! My most recent book is still The Rider's Reign.
Jessica Day George That's about the same age that I decided to be a writer!
Jessica Day George I have no idea when I decided to sort of steer them together. I did know that Pogue and Lilah wouldn't get together officially, he was too . . . messy, I guess? I always felt like Celie, at least, would have a crush on Pogue, because a) he's a boy who's around, and a little bit older, and not her brothers, and b) I based their family dynamic on my family, and I always had a crush on my oldest brother's friends! ;)
Jessica Day George Kind of a tie between Krashath, the evil dragon, and the crazy old wizards in Thursdays with the Crown.

Also, Anthea's mother in the Rose Legacy. I like my villains a bit unhinged.
Jessica Day George Creel is having a baby, a few months after Dragon Spear ends. The only trick is that, since it's a kid's book, she can't be the main character any more if she's a grownup with a baby! I'd have to write about her kids, or something. I may have thought about it. Maybe.
Jessica Day George I'm so glad you like them! I am very fond of them as well . . . maybe one day we'll go back to Feravel!
Jessica Day George I'm sorry, honey, I don't understand? Do I what of a book yet?
Jessica Day George I'm working a book about someone whose name I can't tell you yet, who is doing things in place i can't talk about yet! Because it hasn't been officially announced!
Jessica Day George I did have a dog until about a year and a half ago! Sunny Dog, my beloved elderly lady, was a Coton de Tulear, and she laid under my desk while I worked. Sadly, she was almost sixteen years old and got very sick. Before Sunny Dog we had a little Maltese named Pippin, who is a character in the Dragon Slippers trilogy! (Of course Sunny Dog will be in book I'm writing right now!)
Jessica Day George First of all, thanks so much! I'm so happy that you love my books!

I have three tips I give to aspiring writers:

1. Read. You have a read all the time, and read widely, not just the type of book you want to write! Read poetry, history, mysteries, fantasy, everything! That helps you see what works and what doesn't, and develop your own voice!

2. Write! You have to write every day to keep those writing muscles big and juicy! Even if you just write a letter to a friend, or write a journal, or a list of titles for your story, write, write, write!

3. Keep your writing! If you write a story and then think, this is stupid! Or you write a first chapter and don't know what to do next, that's okay! Keep it. Later you might figure out how to make it better, or how to continue it. Or you might just want to look back and see how much you've grown!
Jessica Day George I've got stuff I'm working on. I can say no more at this point!
