What would be some of your biggest tips for aspiring writers aiming toward a young adult audience?

Hi Annike,
My biggest piece of advice is to stay focused on your story. I mentor high school students with their writing in my hometown and the biggest issue they have is staying focused on their story. Even if you write one sentence a day, that is one sentence more than you had before.
The second piece of advice is to not be afraid to be write. Sometimes, we're scared that our writing isn't good so that paralyzes us into not writing. Write! Keep writing! The more you write, the more you learn what works and what doesn't work. No one's first draft is perfect. It is okay to make mistakes.
