Patti Hacht Not even close!!! Dumbest "twist" I've ever heard of. If they think this book is the "thriller" of the year, they'll be greatly disappointed.

Sooooo tired of people pushing an agenda with the ending the author chose. Actually it's disgusting.
Barondestructo Gone Girl was a terrific book. Girl on the Train was so-so. This book is not very good.
Mary Publishers are always quick to say a book is the NEXT Gone Girl, but in this case, I would say yes. It's the closest thing I have read to Gone Girl, & Girl on the Train.
Nice twist at the end too.
Janelle I would say that this book is completely different. Like Girl on the Train or Gone Girl, you are not sure who to trust and the book involves infidelity. However, there is a ESP type twist with a focus on dreaming to this book that makes it very different. I liked both of the Girl books but enjoyed this one even more because the ending truly surprised me.
Rebecca Gradinger It is absolutely more like Girl on a Train but I liked it so much more because the twist in the end is incredible

Marge There's only one Gone Girl. The rest don't even come close.
Kat Smyers I feel like it's similar to Gone Girl in the sense that all this fucked up shit happening is part of a person's twisted plan. I did not find a similarity with Girl on the Train that it doesn't have with any other psychological thriller.
Vicki Nothing like Gone Girl or Girl on The Train. I loved the twist!
Doris NO, NO, NO!!! Biggest disappointment in a long time. NOT a thriller. Belongs in the trash. I so hated it. I only finished it because I didn’t realize that it was about astral projection until about 70 % in. Also contains ANIMAL CRUELTY, and I HATE that.

Molly No. No. No. No. No.
Ivy I hated the ending
uma i think it is more similar to her fearful symmetry by audrey niffenegger
Ellen-Arwen Tristram I hate the way publishers market books as the 'NEXT' such-and-such. Each book is completely different. But, yes, it does have a similar feel. Without giving anything away, there is one thing that makes this book significantly different...
Christopher Teague In all honesty I was disappoint with "... on the Train" and thought that this was a much better plotted story,. And yes, you won't guess the ending.
Melissa Not at all. To me it's closer to Gone Girl, but I think it's the best of the three. Again, it all depends on your view of the ending (I loved it)
Tome_reader "Behind her Eyes" is similar to "Gone Girl" in that it centers on a highly dysfunctional married couple, including an adulterous husband a duplicitous wife. The ending differs greatly from either "girl" novel you cite, so I would advise you to read some spoiler-free reviews before deciding to read it yourself. The last 50 pages or so are incredibly divisive.
Judy Lindow Ah, so Patti, you didn't get into it ; )
Barbara Purington The Woman in Cabin 10 is another one in the category, Girl on the train, Gone Girl.
PrettyFlamingo I am heartily sick of everything being the next something or other. Can't books just stand by themselves? This is nothing like Gone Girl or Girl on a Train. Totally different genre for a start. It is a diversion from the usual domestic drama, which I was glad to see as I could see echoes of SP's earlier work (the Victorian dramas Mayhem and Murder).
Christine Good question. I kept thinking of both while reading this. There are characters in this book that are very similar to characters from both "Gone Girl" and "Girl on the Train". Of the three, I liked "Gone Girl" the best for the writing, the plot, and Amazing Amy;-) The ending of "Behind her Eyes" is, indeed, very clever. However, you have to slog through 95% of what is basically a generic thriller to get to 10 pages of "wow".
Christy Thedorf Yes I would have to agree. Very similar to Gone Girl or Girl on the Train
