How did you start your career? What sites or methods did you use to draw attention of the agents/publishers to your books?

Lynsay Sands Actually, back then I did it old school. I got a book called The Writer's Market from the library and followed it's advice when it came to writing query letters. From it I also got the names of six publishers who accepted unagented, unsolicited manuscripts and sent out query letters and sample chapters to each. Three asked for the rest of the book and one offered on it. I didn't know anything about marketing and stuff back then...Actually, I still don't really, lol.
