No, the English translation is not a compilation of 4 Swedish books. It is a translation of the 4th book only. To read the first 3 books you will have to learn Swedish, just like we had to learn English to read fantasy books in English. Nah, jk, You may ask Johanne about it yourself. As it's been stated by other members, the line up of the series is different between the original and the English translations. In the original series, Sagan om Valhalla (translation: Lord of Vahalla) this book (which is called Sigrid) is in line as #4; in the English translations, it had been re-numbered as the first book. The 2nd (and only other) book in the series that has been translated to English is called Estrid in both the original and English series, and actually is book #5 in the original, so it does follow this book regardless of which version you read.
All that said: the author has stated that all of the books in the series were intended to serve as stand alone novels, so think of them all more as a loose collective than as a stay-tuned for what happens next! kind of reading experience. In other words, you won't be lost or losing anything by starting with this book, even if later down the line they do translate the previous 3 from the original series.

It's not a typo. Sometimes foreign (non-English) books are translated out of order. When they are then translated in English, they are often given different numbering than the original. Sometimes it's because it's translated in a away that reflects internal chronology, as opposed to the original publication order. Sometimes they pick the better story or the most exciting, hoping to hook people. Things like that.
Amazon labeled this book "The Unbroken Line of the Moon (The Valhalla Series Book 1)" and it also reflects that on the English cover! If you look it says: "The Valhalla Series - Book 1" -- it is correct in that it is #1 for English readers, even though also #4 in Swedish. But for people that speak English, there is as of yet - no other books to read (?) - it is the first and only book right now. Also, keep in mind that if it was published in English it was labeled #4 - it'd cause confusion. Where are the other books? Why can't I read them? Why is it labeled #4 when I don't see 1-3 at my retailer, library, etc. Sure, it'd be easy to explain that the previous books are as of yet, not translated, but still, giving it the original numbering would cause confusion for many. Most people, when they see Book #4 on a cover, expect to have access to #1-3. And in this case, unless you can read Swedish, you do not.
People who want to read them in the original order, might have to wait years for the rest to be translated, if they ever will (it's not a guarantee!). You could then purchase them and keep them on your bookshelf or eReader until the time all the books are ready to read in order. Or they can read them in the order they are published in their language (English) - which is in this case is out of order. Many people will read them in this way and many will be clueless to the fact that there's anything off with the order. Especially people who do not check on GR and only see the cover of the book at a bookstore or some place.

The first three books are set in a speculative idea of the Bronze Age, are about goddesses and gods, about matriarchy and magic, and if what I am reading of the first one Freja is any indication (a quarter of the way through), seem very different from what the reviews are saying of this book. Which would make them more of a prequel. They are perhaps not considered of wide enough interest for an English-speaking audience, I'm not sure. They seem to have been translated into other Nordic languages.
