I don't get it. Why is everyone gushing over this book? I have dragged myself to page 160 or something but haven't found it interesting in the least. Should i continue or give it up? Is this where it get interesting?

Michael Baziotis Perhaps you should stop right now. The hero infiltrates a slave plantation. He raises fear among the cowardly slave leaders by sharing stolen food from the master's table with the slaves. He saves the life of a young girl about to be raped and murdered by the master, then burns the master's house, killing the master and freeing the slaves and starts a revolution. All in the first 160 pages. If you don't 'get it' or get hooked by now, you never will be.
Karl Weisenburger That depends on what you enjoy in a book. If you are looking for just action, this book has it, but this book was defiantly NOT written just to have tons of action. I think the people (myself included) who gush over this book are book worms and just appreciate the world building, complex plot, and even more complex characters. If you are just looking for action, hold on because the later books (4,5,6) have lots more action. Or you could try Brandon's reckoners series, which has much more action and also helps to get people who aren't used to Brandon Sanderson introduced to his style. Hope this helps!
Keenan Budd Mistborn is an amazing series. The first bit can be boring I guess if all you care about is action, but the political intrigue, character development, and planning I thought were brilliant and intriguing. And there is still a nice peppering of action, and the later part of the series is action packed.
Heloisa Angeli That's curious. I'm reading the third book and I certainly don't love it as much as people seem to love. In fact, so far the third book is far more interesting for me than the other two, of course, that the story had to be built to make it possible.
There I am having the same thoughts, I am page 100 and not getting it
Mark It gets really good around halfway through. Mistborn has an amazing and complex plot, layered characters, intricate politics, and detailed world building. But it is also slower and more subtle than most books, varying from intense action sequences to politics and planning. I'd say get about three quarters through, and then decide if you like it or not.
