Mark, in your opinion, how valuable are social media to a writer; in particular, should a writer aim to tweet everyday, and if so, what are the benefits? Keep up the great work
Mark Lawrence
A very difficult question to know the answer to. Certainly I only reach a tiny proportion of my readers on social media. How does that impact success/sales ... I have no idea.
My take on it is that it's likely less important than many people think, and you should do it if you enjoy doing it.
Sam Sykes has the same size twitter following as me, but (according to my sales vs Goodreads ratings formula) far fewer sales. So 14,000 twitter followers doesn't mean they'll all rush out to buy your book. Even if that's your catch phrase.

Dear Mr. Lawrence!
I'm currently reading King of Thorns and there's one line that bothers me day and night.
Chapter 17, Jorg and his Brothers are in the town of Endless.
After the attack on Sim Jorg says the following line: "My, my, missamerican pie." It constantly reminds me of Madonna's song "American Pie". Did you use this line intentionally or is it just a coincidence?
Thanks for your answer!

Hi. I just wanted to say how much i have loved the first two books in the Broken Empire trilogy. I have only recently started to get into fantasy and while looking for reads came upon your books. They are just amazing! I have the third book ready to start and have the next trilogy ready too. I wondered what inspired/influenced the character of Jorg, and what was the most challenging aspects of writing him?

Howdy sir, I was wondering if you where planning on working on another book series for the planet Abeth? Also would you recommend any books on par with your own? You and Brandon Sanderson are really the only great fantasy writers (still releasing books), I have seen so far in a decade in a half.
