I love to read your books as I know they will hold my attention all the way thru, sorry if this has already been asked but how do you come up with some of your characters? or do they "create" themselves?
Lori Foster
Hi April! Yes, they absolutely do create themselves!
Basically I come up with an idea for an external plot, and then somehow the characters start forming in my mind. I think about a book for a while before I start writing it, so usually by the time I'm addressing that particular story, I already have a basis for their personalities. But they flesh themselves out as I write, and often I learn about them right along with the reader.
It keeps things interesting - a good thing since I bore easily. lol. If I knew too much about the story or characters from the onset, the writing wouldn't be such a fun adventure.

How did you begin your writing career.?? You are a wonderful author and it's a true blessing to be so talented. Sometimes I think of starting to write, but really not sure what is involved in all of it. Can you give me some pointers ??? Thanks again for all the great books !!!!!

Good morning Lori! My question is how hard (or easy) is it to write the stories where the characters are connected in the series? Especially bringing Cannon in the Ultimate Series after he was introduced in the Undercover Series, etc. I realize he didn't have a big role, but I would think it might become confusing. It would be for me, but you do an excellent job of it! Happy Release Day!!!

I'm an aspiring writer, but I'm dealing with two things: I get discouraged every single day because 96% of manuscripts are rejected, and I haven't had an idea for years, literally. There's too many people wanting to be writers, and knowing there's so much competition just kills me a little every day. When I get motivated, immediatly something appears about the industry that kills it. Any tips on how to deal with this?
