I don't have a question that hasn't already been answered. However, I do want the answer to said question "when will the sequel be out", to be soon!!! I really do hope that you will work out the kinks and give us more!!! I will admit, this type of book, but I really enjoyed the book. It was weird, imaginative and gripping. Also it makes you pay attention. I loved that!!! THANKS FOR A GREAT READ?!?!

Hi Melissa! Thank you for reading!
I was talking to my agent the other day--second books are apparently hard for a lot of people. I've decided I just needed to lighten up and have fun with it.
I'm working on something else right now (albeit very, very slowly :-) but when I'm done with that I'm going to do at least a couple of prequel short stories set in the Mount Char universe. As far as a proper sequel...I'm not 100% sure yet. It would be tough to find a suitable bad guy , and I'm not sure what Carolyn's character arc would be. For her, there's not really anywhere to go but down, and I'd hate to write (or read) a story where everything just got gradually worse.
Anyway, I'm working on it. Sorry to be so wishy-washy, but I'd hate to say something definite ("I'll have X words on Y date!") and end up being wrong.

Hello hello! From your wonderful "homicidal nutjobs librarians" primer, is the anecdote for David predicated on a Stephen King story? I am dying to know. I found your Reddit Q&A only now, and enjoyed it immensely - all elements of it - but so pleased I picked up the book knowing nothing about it! I have gone back and re-read portions (cough, the whole book) several times. Worth the 30 years. Your fan, - Leslie

I'm tickled peach (ha, ha) that you live in Atlanta, too. Will you be doing any local book signings or other appearances? Also, I would really, really love to be a beta reader for your next book. Do you have a list, or does your publisher handle that; if the latter, how would I go about contacting the appropriate person?

Maupassant said that talented authors should be called illusionists because of how they can write on something unreal and make it feel like real life. Well let me tell you that you're a hell of an illusionist. Your book was extraordinary and I've never ever read something similar in my life. Props for the originality. So, I was wondering how did you come up with the idea of the Palapi language? Thanks!
