Spoiler alert... I absolutely loved this book, and have now read it twice and I am still befuddled about how Steel knew to show up at the pool for the big rescue at the end. No one knew where McRae was! did i miss something??

George Wilson the police radio has gps on it. That was deliberately mentioned early on. So, assuming his radio went with him, they would know where he was.

Don't forget the hospital finds out the girl has been taken so that would start the whole process.
