Goodreads asked Brandon Boyce:

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Brandon Boyce My new book, STORM'S THUNDER, picks up where the first one left off. I'm interested in tackling all the great forces of the American West. In HERE BY THE BLOODS I got to look at a small town and the sense of community--both good and bad--that came about mostly by necessity. The new book features the main character, Harlan Two-Trees, very much on the move. That meant the railroad as much as horseback. I rode the Southwest Chief--which is basically the exact same road of track that's been in place for 140 years--from Santa Fe to Los Angeles as part of my research. STORM'S THUNDER also allowed me to write the army for the first time. But the most fun was describing baseball through the eyes of someone who has never seen it.
