Hi, I wanted to ask where the nickname "Virigl" comes from for DI Dennis Tibbs?

L.M. Krier Hi and thanks for your question. It's a reference to a character in the brilliant Sidney Poitier film 'In the Heat of the Night', and its sequel, 'They Call Me Mr Tibbs'. DC Dennis Tibbs is a black officer, so he is nicknamed Virgil after the FBI character so wonderfully played by Poitier in the film. If you've not seen it, I highly recommend it!

I have a memoir of buying and renovating in France as the beginning of my life in retirement.
