Goodreads asked R.E. Bryant:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

R.E. Bryant Early on, I never really experienced it. But in time, as some of the plot twists became more complex, I kept second guessing myself on the delivery. Frustration would soon follow and the best thing to do when I couldn't figure out how I wanted to approach a scene was pretty simple...step away. That was it. I went outside, or turned on the T.V, or listened to music. In time what I found truly worked if I wanted to get right back at it, was to put on a movie which inspired me. If I was writing an action scene I'd watch something like the Matrix or X-Men. If I was writing about a humorous scene I'd watch something I found humorous. It sort of helped "free my mind" (no pun intended to you Matrix fans) and suddenly...BAM! There it was. The solution I was looking for would just sort of pop up out of nowhere.
