Mary Kubica Thank you!!! I usually start with a very vague description - name, appearance, general demeanor, age, etc - and then as I begin writing, the characters take on a life of their own and becomes less character-like to me and far more human. I spend a great deal of time on character development, to try and create something that will really resonate with my readers.
