I wish I had a good answer for this! I don't really know - other than having an active imagination and enjoying crafting stories in my mind. Part of it is the process. I don't usually know where the story is going early on, but as I create characters and build their lives, I get new ideas. I love reading, which helps stimulate creativity, I believe. I've been an avid reader my entire life.

Hi, Mary! I've become a fan since I've read The Good Girl. It was really the twist at the end that had a great impact on me. I was wondering if you originally thought about the ending that way or the idea came when you've already started the story and thought about it as the story progressed?
