Eloisa James This may seem obvious, but Romeo and Juliet. There's a strong argument that R&J actually changed the way the western world thinks about marriage and love. At the time (1590s), most marriages were happening significantly later in life. But R&J was the most popular play on the English stage for years (and remains his most popular now) -- and Juliet is only 13.
