Eloisa James Hi there! I won't go back to Blanche and definitely not to Lydia -- I appreciate a good reformed mean-girl story too, but they're complicated to write. The original mean girl has to be written in such a way that her pain is more evident than her meanness. Lydia's actions and attitude toward her brother are nastier than I could redeem. Blanche, on the other hand, I could redeem--and to a certain extent, I do already-- but I don't think I'll go back to that series. I have a new one starting next spring with the Last Lady B that I hope you love! all best, Eloisa
Eloisa James Hello! It doesn't go onto the page, but this is from when Silvester comes to propose (and needs good luck).

As well as wealth, she noted sourly, seeing an emerald shaped like an insect pinned to his cravat.
Presumably, one of his mother’s lucky scarabs.

The box had a lucky scarab like the ones that Her Grace gave to her daughters.

I'm so honored that you like the books enough to listen to them again. Thank you for telling me!
all best, Eloisa
Eloisa James AH -- but I put in into an epilogue that he married an Indian princess. And that's where all the trouble came. Have you read the Seduction series on Kindle? There's a character there, Frederick, whom I am contemplating drying out (harder than you think -- but yes, he can grow up!).
Eloisa James Honestly, I can't remember! I've written a load of those scenes, since so few Regency women had sexual experience before getting married. One that really sticks with me was in When the Duke Returns, because neither of them had any experience (but it all worked out!). all best wishes ~

Eloisa James Hi Lyndzee! Thank you for writing. I'm sorry but I've lost touch with Lisa and I don't know whether she is writing or not. I hope she is, as I adore her books! All best ~ E
Eloisa James I hear you -- i do! But I want to write Horatio's story. I'm so sorry to be slow (on the other hand, I think the book I'm writing right now will delight people). I have a gap in my writing schedule coming up. I was thinking of writing another in the Two Dances & a Duke series but I will take your advice and think seriously about Horatio! Thank you for writing me ~ E
Eloisa James Hi there Julia! I do plan to write Horatio's book at some point (yes, miraculous return from the unbodied dead), but I am deep in other series so it's hard to go back. Also I switched publishers, and they are unlikely to want to pick up a book from another publisher, so I'd have to self-publish. Some day!
Eloisa James Hello Desdemona! Thank you for writing me. I don't have any intention of returning to characters from Beauty at the moment. The problem is that I leap into creating a new world--and then spin out side characters whom people feel affection for--but by then I'm in a different world. That said, I do have in mind a frog prince fairy tale knock-off so perhaps there will be room for him there.

I'm so glad you liked the book (and the character) -- with all best wishes, E
Eloisa James Hello! I'm not entirely sure yet. At least 4, though, as there's another one coming out next spring and 2 more contracted. I'm writing #3 right now.
I hope you liked Viscount in Love!
all best, Eloisa
Eloisa James Hi there! I wish I had a solid answer for you. I'm moving publishers and have such an exciting book under way at the moment that I can't stop and go back and immerse myself in the Wildes universe. So honestly, I'm not sure if I ever will go back and do it. I hate to disappoint you... I know everyone wants his story.
Eloisa James Hi there! The heroine of My American Duchess, Merry, is close childhood friends with the hero of The Reluctant Wallflower. So she shows up in that book 10 years after her book (now a duchess, with children), and turned out to be so much fun that I added her to all the books.
Eloisa James Hi there! I'm so happy you've been reading my books so long. I did an English degree and thought that's what really interested me, but then I went off to Oxford for an M.Phil in Renaissance lit. That degree was very focused on history, and I became fascinated. Then came back to the US for my PhD and continued studying history (I did a Renaissance Studies degree, that combined history-literature-music and more). Over the years, my books' fidelity to the historical period has fluctuated, but I hope that base-line the historical fact is real enough (or I note in the back when I deviate). All best wishes, Eloisa
Eloisa James Oh, this is a question I've asked myself many a time. My excuses: I was raising a very small child who was often ill. The names sounded good, so I just used them... OF course they sounded good! I'd used them before!! So, sorry for the lame answer, but that's the truth of it. I'm glad you loved the series anyway!
Eloisa James Hi there! The implications are certainly that she married a Lord Knowe at some point, and he is deceased. I wouldn't put it past her to go to Europe for a grand tour, and return a "widow" with a title, though. Every once in a while I play around with ideas for a novella for her. She's one of my favorites.
Eloisa James I'm so sorry but nothing is coming to mind (and I"m nearly 40 published works, so there's a lot of characters to think through). How did you come across her name?
Eloisa James No, there isn't, but I honestly think I might go back and write his story. There isn't going to be a follow-up on the anthology, so I'd have to get to it myself. I will keep it in mind!
Eloisa James Hello! I doubt that I'll go back to the series with Four Nights. I love creating vivid children, but I prefer to create a new world. I'm sorry to disappoint you, but very glad you like the books enough to ask.
Eloisa James Hello Leonor!
Actually, I can see myself going back to the Wildes at some point, but at the moment I'm very excited by my new series. I know readers really want to return -- and there are all those kids! -- so I promise to keep it front of mind. I'm so glad you enjoyed the books so much as to hope for more.
