Quinn
Quinn asked Eloisa James:

I have a predicament that I would like some authors opinions on. I possess a unique first name. A novel writer I chat with on occasion said she wants to use it in a future book. I have mixed feelings about this. I really can't stop her from using my name, I know that. Would it be too much to ask if she give me some sort of recognition? Would it be impolite to ask her not to use it? Any advice is appreciated! TY!

Eloisa James I think you could put it in terms of your mother -- after all, she likely picked out your name. What if you asked the author if she would possibly recognize you and your mother, if she uses the name?
