Typically when I'm plagued by writer's block, I put the computer away for the time and step away from my manuscript. I find it's far easier to work through a troublesome plot when I'm doing other things - cleaning house, laundry, driving kids to soccer practice, exercising, etc. Staring at a blank computer screen never seems to help.
