Dear Mark. I was wondering what your experience is with getting feedback from publishing firms concerning major changes in the manuscript or change something that you didn't really want to. How did you deal with it and what do you feel about it in retrospect?

Hi JC - I've never had a publisher suggest major changes in one of my manuscripts so I can't say. If we're talking cut then I don't recall an editor ever wanting anything more than a sentence deleted here or there and it's always suggestions rather than demands.
I've had suggestions that an extra chapter might help in one place or that a section might move more rapidly - generally speaking I've agreed with the reasoning, and when I do I take the steps I feel appropriate.

I don't know how this process works and am sure you may have been told this before; but I want to share something I want to see. I was browsing the bookstore just the other day and I happened on several themed Monopoly sets. Two of these sets were based on The Legend of Zelda and another on A Game of Thrones. I have never bought a themed Monopoly game; but I want The Red Queen's War! Can you make it happen, Mark!?
