A Goodreads user asked Jessica Khoury:

When writing Vitro and Origin, what made you decide to write Vitro in third person and Origin in first? Did you feel as though first person in Origin would bring the reader closer to the protagonist and third person in Virtro a more broader perspective on more that just one person in particular?

Jessica Khoury Vitro is in 3rd person because it has multiple points of view, and it can get confusing to have several characters narrating in the first person. It’s hard for the reader to remember whose POV they are currently in, and it’s even harder for the writer (or at least for me!) to develop and stick with multiple unique voices in one story.

I did think 1st person would make Origin’s narration more intense and personal! Both for me and for you, the reader.
