Lillith Fleischauer
Lillith Fleischauer asked Kate DiCamillo:

When did you know you wanted to be a writer?

Kate DiCamillo Hi Lilith. I was in my twenties when I knew for sure that I wanted to be a writer. But it wasn't until I was almost thirty that I started to actually write.

More Answered Questions

Barb
Barb asked Kate DiCamillo:

Thanks for writing such great books! Despereaux and Edward Tulane are favorites of mine and are wonderful read-aloud books. What is next for you? Anything brewing?

Elaine Aaron
Elaine Aaron asked Kate DiCamillo:

Do you have advice for hooking young students, especially those who struggle academically on reading? As a teacher-librarian I'm aware of the necessity of exposing them to quality literature and sharing my passion for reading (and have plenty of your wonderful books to share)! As National Ambassador of Young People's Literature, do you have other recommendations?

Casey
Casey asked Kate DiCamillo:

The Tale of Despereaux is by far one of my favorite books. It bothered me that the movie wasn't exactly like the book. Did that bother you and how much input do you have in regards to the movie?
