Team Maven or Team Cal? Personally, I ship Maven and Mare because I'm not buying the Maven-is-all-bad thing.

Because at the way Maven is going, I feel like he's at the point of no return (I still find him an intriguing character though) and Cal not only chose power over her (I don't really blame too much because that's like having to choose between the girl you like and the job you've dreamed of getting your entire life), Cal is also a little boring. I like reading about the tough, bad boy types but Cal just didn't do it for me. He and her are way too different in their ideals and life prospects. They only care for their own blood. Mare takes marriage seriously and wants it to be about love while Silvers use it for political means and keep the people they love as a side hoe. And I hate the girl ending up with the childhood best friend because its cliche and we don't get to see them explore all their relationships and chemistry or get to learn new things about them. So that means no Kilorn. So I'll be happy if either Mare ends up with some other new guy who she isn't childhood best friends/ hasn't betrayed her yet or she just doesn't choose anyone by the end of the book. But then there is also option c, which is she chooses a girl (Cameron, Farley?) But I won't expend too much of my thinking on it because although I like this series, it's not my favorite (that has to go to A Court of Thorns and Roses and also Six of Crows)(less)
