Sophie
Sophie asked Kate DiCamillo:

What would you say is the most important thing to consider when writing for children?

Kate DiCamillo It's the same thing that is important for all of writing, I think: to tell a story with the whole of yourself.

Casey
Casey asked Kate DiCamillo:

The Tale of Despereaux is by far one of my favorite books. It bothered me that the movie wasn't exactly like the book. Did that bother you and how much input do you have in regards to the movie?

Barb
Barb asked Kate DiCamillo:

Thanks for writing such great books! Despereaux and Edward Tulane are favorites of mine and are wonderful read-aloud books. What is next for you? Anything brewing?

Susan McGilvray
Susan McGilvray asked Kate DiCamillo:

Kate - My seventh graders and I want to know what you imagine happened to Rob and Sistine after The Tiger Rising ended? We read it together every year to see what figurative language done well looks and sounds like. For the rest of the year we practice 'opening our suitcases' when we write. :) Thank you!
