More Answered Questions

Wendy
Wendy asked Jacqueline Winspear:

Maisie meditates; how important is meditation in your life? Did many people in England know about meditation in WW1 England?

Pat Christensen
Pat Christensen asked Jacqueline Winspear:

With as popular as your series has been, and with as many books, as you write, do you ever worry that you're writing to meet your reader's expectations more than your own? If not, how do you avoid it?

Lois Church
Lois Church asked Jacqueline Winspear:

I love the Maisie Dobbs books: I have read all and keep them to reread. One thing I wonder, though: what value do long descriptions of Maisie's (etc.) outfits add? Sometimes these bog down the story's progress. Significant sensory details are indeed important to atmosphere--they help bring a story alive--but I wonder if there is a way to intersperse sartorial specifics instead of presenting them in "chunks."
