What kinds of specific Munich related research did you do?

Jacqueline Winspear Debbie - well, for starters, I went to Munich! And in February. And it was darn cold! I walked my feet off, went to every major place on the "Nazi" map and on to Dachau. I also acquired a Baedeker guide to Germany (1937), and that was eye-wateringly expensive but I knew I needed it. And I invested in a wonderful book, published in 1937, on German architecture. I read books written at the time, and books written about Munich in the era when Maisie is there. That was just for starters ...

When you write about Maisie travelling through London or further afield, do you go back there to walk the route, or is it all from your memory? Also, how did you come up with the name 'Maisie Dobbs'?
