Amor Towles Stephanie, Thanks for the kind remark on RULES. Like RULES, my new novel, A GENTLEMAN IN MOSCOW, steals a little from my life, steals a little from history, and relies on a whole lot of invention. As the title suggests, the story takes you to Russia with a new cast of characters and, of course, a new set concerns; but I hope that fans of RULES will rediscover many of the pleasures of that book in the new one. I loved "Eve in Hollywood" in "Table For Two," but I never read the original novella (and haven't been able to find it). I know that the new version is more than twice as long as the original, but other than that I haven't been able to find out what the differences are. Was the 2013 version essentially part 1 of its 2023 counterpart? The entire story yet much more abridged? Or were there more substantial changes made?
