Hello Mr. Towles, I just have to say that A Gentleman in Moscow is now my all time favorite book! I've already ready it twice this year alone and I know I will do so again soon. Thank you so much for giving me such a wonderful escape with a group of friends that I call my own. Did you have a say in the Narrator for the audio book? because his voice is perfect for the book!

Dear Cynthia,
Thanks for the kinds remarks. I hope you now give a glimpse to RULES OF CIVILITY! As to your question: Yes, I was involved in selecting the narrators for both of my books, and both did excellent jobs.
Best,
AT

Mr. Towles - We loved The Lincoln Highway but were shocked and disappointed to see you casually traffic in grossly antisemitic tropes. The statements (p.214) of Jews that "could hardly be trusted to give him a fair price" and needing to ensure that Billy "wasn't taken advantage of" by Jews (p.215) were entirely gratuitous and beneath a man of your intellect and sophistication. Why would you use such language?

That's wonderful. I am often struck by the jewels that research unearths while writing historical fiction. It's surprising how actual events known and unknown reflect a greater truth. Perhaps it's the mythical Universal Mind? I also believe in Faulkner's saying that stories happen to those who can tell them, and you tell them well. I'll carry the Triumvirate with me for many years and look forward to your next.

Your writing and humorous comparisons are brilliant, and I appreciate your many references to art and literature. Though I haven't read all the books and am not familiar with some of the art pieces, I was compelled to look them up and learn a bit. Using a tablet made it easy to switch between the internet and ROC. Is there a new AT book is in the works? Also loved A Gentleman in Moscow.
