Goodreads asked Jeremy Dwyer:

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Jeremy Dwyer When I was 18 years old, I started thinking about the oceans, and how the waters could be different, giving various super powers to people who drank of them. I got busy with college, family, graduate school, other projects, etc. From time to time in my 20s and 30s, I tried writing down my ideas, but couldn't quite find the right structure, pace or writing style. In my late 30s, we moved into a new house, and the ideas started coming fast. I still worked on other projects. I finally organized the story ideas and wrote them down whenever I could. A week before I turned 42, I had the story published. So, it can take a while.
