Goodreads asked Jeremy Tyrrell:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Jeremy Tyrrell Depends on the kind of writer's block. If it's a matter of being unable to think because of distractions, I put on the white noise and wear my don't-talk-to-me hat. If it's being stuck for a plot point or getting the wording of a sentence right, I put in a XXX as a placeholder for 'come back to this'. Then I move onto something else.
If it's being at a loss for ideas, well, the simplest thing, I find, is to read other books, go for a long walk and think about nothing, paint some eggs, write on the webpage, juggle, play with the boy, anything to break the mental fatigue. Like muscles, brains get tired, too.
