I'm really interested in how you write so beautifully about the different cultures that are the main focus of your stories. How you gain the background cultural information and the descriptions for the different areas you describe... Do you take time off from writing just to research the areas you want to write about or do you do a lot of traveling so that you can write about it more confidently...?

Colleen Houck I wish I could do a lot of traveling. It's rather expensive and I haven't been able to go to India or Egypt so instead I research as best as I can from home and talk to as many people as I can. My number one goal is to be respectful and show the beauty of the culture and people I write about.
