The first thing I would say to aspiring authors is that there is no "right" way of writing. Do you plot a story out first or just leap straight in? Do you write a draft all the way through or go over what you have already written? it doesn't matter as long as it works for you.
Be determined - it took me 12 years to get published and you need to be persistent to achieve your dream. And draw on the support of the romance community. It's a wonderful group of people!

I'm in the middle of The Winter Garden and it is such a lovely book. The read is great! And, you have given me a new passion: garden history. We have a native garden with a kind of gangly herb bed that you've inspired me to make into a knot. Is garden history a passion of yours or did it just come up in your research?
