I recently re-read it. I really love the character of Antoinette Conway. The things she says in her head about what she really thinks of the people she's talking to very closely resemble what I am often thinking but not saying. I say, good for her. Some readers thought Antoinette was too grating, but when I re-read this book, I liked her much more than first time around. The plot was not as good as The Likeness, which is a masterpiece of terror and danger, but the story was a good one, nonetheless. Wheels within wheels. Those who are looking for action adventures would do better to read another author. Tana French is not an action movie writer. (less)
