Caroline Kepnes Hi Susan! Yes, you are correct. Hidden Bodies is a continuation of You. We reunite with Joe and (page on, so really not a spoiler!) and he's buying flowers for Amy. So for me, right away he has something to lose, a girlfriend. And I was excited to see how this character behaves in a relationship, not just with this woman, but with more people. You'll see him get around a lot in this book, social Joe. And the fact that he's capable of murder as we well know...

I am always interested in suffering and rationalization. And human growth. The way we change, the way we don't change, that hysterical moment in Bridesmaids when the women argue about that, I love that scene.

And I am passionate about both sides of the story, approaching life from different perspectives. Not to form judgments or find solutions but to understand why people do what they do.

Also, I am such a consumer. I am inspired by everything from repeats of Dawson's Creek to my beat up old J.D. Salinger books to classic Prince lyrics.
