Kevin Cole asked Rupert Dreyfus:

The North won't stay out of the news. How's your brother doing now?

Rupert Dreyfus Hi Kevin

From what I know my brother's escaped the latest storm but another one is on its way which I think is set to hit Cumbria and Scotland the worst so there could be even more problems.

Hope you don't mind me going off on a tangent, but the situation is quite alarming to be honest. The Lake District is a very green place so it has a lot of rain in the course of a year. According to the Met Office (which is our national weather service) it is more than the national average. However, I've never known the storms to be this relentless. In fact there's been an observable change since around 2010 and that's before we look at any real data on the subject which will show spikes of extreme weather events in the UK way, way, way before 2010. I was reading an article only the other day and even a police sergeant was saying that we should now be thinking and talking about climate change.

Problem is we've got the wrong government in to be doing anything about it. To David Cameron it's just that 'green crap' his party has to find ways of side-stepping. So I'm expecting things to get worse in the UK from here on out - particularly in the north because we receive far less funding than the beloved south.

Sorry for the tangent. But yeah; my brother and his property is presently fine.
