Johnnie Gee
Johnnie Gee asked Brian Freeman:

Do you ever work on more than one book at a time? Does something about one story you are writing, give you an idea about the next book or two?

Brian Freeman Hi Johnnie,

Typically, I don't do any of the actual writing on more than one book at a time. However, the process does overlap from book to book. I may be plotting, researching, or outlining the next book, while I'm still polishing and editing the previous book. For example, right now, I'm working on a new thriller that I hope to finish this winter, but I've already got the next Stride novel outlined and ready to go.

And yes, I'm usually thinking about what might happen next for the characters when I'm in the midst of a book. I've already got ideas in mind for more Stride and Cab! Plus, I always take notes about themes, plots, and crimes that I may want to work into a future book.

Happy reading -- and happy holidays!

Brian
