I just picked up a copy of Spilled Blood. It is so excellent I can't put it down. I started it today and I'm over half way through. A well crafted mystery that has me enthralled. I read one of your other books, The Bone House, which I also enjoyed immensely. Keep up the great work. I look forward to reading more of your novels. What inspires you to write about small town terror? Your fan, Aaron

Thanks so much, Aaron. I'm delighted that you're enjoyed Spilled Blood! The book won the award for Best Hardcover Novel in the International Thriller Writers Awards -- such an amazing honor.
I grew up in Chicago, but my parents had a little cottage not far from Lake Michigan where we used to spend summer weekends. That's where I fell in love with the ambience of small towns -- the dirt roads, the corn fields, the lakes. So when I started writing thrillers, I found myself drawn to rural suspense, rather than urban, big city suspense.
I hope you'll spread the word to your friends! Also be sure to enter the Goodreads give-away contest for my book THE BONE HOUSE:

Hi Brian, I've read all of your books on Kindle. It has been interesting watching your writing evolve from Immoral through Funeral for a Friend. I very much enjoyed the Stride and Cab series and your standalone books. Deep Deep Snow was great, and Thief River Falls was possibly my favorite of all your books. When do we get another Frost Easton book? You left us on a cliffhanger, and it's killing me! Thanks, Justin

No question, just thanks for a great story. A bit over a year ago I asked if you were going to start a series with Shelby Lake and you told me that the next in the series was going to be different. What an understatement! The Ursulina was excellent. Suspense and bittersweet tears. Thank you, you did very, very well. ? (I need a question mark in order to send this.)
