I'm nearly done with Schadenfreude, and finding it awesome. You are a wonderful writer. Love Erich and Kalthertzig (Coldhearted lol). Is Kalthertzig in your mind, one of the actual Doctors in Block 10, or is he just 'Everyman'; representative of that group? A very nice lady over on the BDSM Group is hoping to have Schadenfreude as the January Buddy-read book, if enough folks show interest.

Kaltherzig is fictional, influenced by a few people I know in real life, with much of their consciences excised. His name, "eagle" and "coldhearted" refers to the Nazi party itself. For Erich, he IS the Third Reich. He's not based on any actual SS doctor, though of course Mengele and Claub (I think I changed Claub's name for some reason) were quite real and employed in Block 10.
I'm delighted a group is considering Schadenfreude, but a little wary that this book is NOT in any way related to what anyone currently uses BDSM to mean. There is nothing in this book that is safe, sane, or consensual.
