(view spoiler)[I just finished reading The Rise of the Red Shadow, the first novel of yours I've read. I have two questions for you. Leo spoke of losing his fingers and going to the healers to have them grown back. He made a comment about how little pain there is in cutting off a limb. Is there truth to that? Also, why didn't Shadow go to the healers to have his tail grown back? I was disappointed that he didn't. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[It is indeed true that the healers in Entwell are skilled enough to, with very little discomfort, restore lost limbs. Shadow/Lain didn't have his tail regrown because, after years of going without it, he'd become accustomed to his absence. In a small way, its removal was a connection to his past. It stood as a reminder of where he had been and why he was doing what he was doing.
There's also the pragmatic aspect, that he'd learned to live without it, and without it he could somewhat more easily hide his true nature from those who might mean him harm.
(Also, because Rise of the Red Shadow takes place before but was written after several other books, I had to match is appearance and circumstances to those books.) (hide spoiler)]

First I like to say how much I love your books! I was getting burn out with supernatural drama, so I decided to try something new. Boy am I glad I did! I enjoy your books so much I downloaded them from Amazon for my husband to read. I listening to books on my mp3 player every where I go (work, driving, home, etc.). I just wondering if you are planning to have Karyn O'Bryant narrated The D'Karon Apprentice soon ?
