Katie McGarry Hi Christy,

I based a lot of Haley off of myself. She's not me. It's not an autobiography. There are a ton of things that happen to her that never happened to me and I'm not a kickboxer (though I did take bag kickboxing classes for a year so I could research the book). In fact, there are more differences between us than there are things in common, but I understood a lot of Haley's drive and a lot of Haley's fears. There were times it was emotionally painful to write her, but I'm so happy I did.

I love how Take Me On turned out.
