Cindy
Cindy asked Sue London:

I've just started the series and really enjoy it. I was wondering if you grew up with weapons and a "boys' club" of your own?

Sue London Thanks for asking! I didn't have a boys club, but had two older brothers. That means I played a lot of sports at home (especially football) and was quite the tomboy. Then I met my best friend and we had a shared interest in science fiction - which required running around playing with a lot of imaginary phasers and flying a lot of imaginary ships. To me, having the ability to see yourself in a lot of different roles, whether that crosses gender or intersteller lines, gives you a lot of opportunities to learn more about yourself and see yourself as stronger or more complete than you could have before. If I'd lived in the early 1800s I definitely would have been part of something like the Haberdashers. :)
