Wow, I feel like your question is more insightful than my plan! As you may have noticed, all the Greek references have been only loosely associated with the heroine and I'm not attempting to retell the goddess stories. In this particular case it was something ELSE from the Persephone story that I had keyed on (being held underground), but I like your interpretation, too!(less)

There are three things in the hopper right now.
(1) A novella collaboration with Gene Doucette for an Immortal/Haberdashers cross-over. (Hint: this is going to be awesome.)
(2) A novella for a Christmas collection, because July is obviously the best time to feel Christmassy.
(3) Saving Persephone: Haberdashers #4. This novel will close the first sub-arc of the Haberdashers 12 book series and it focuses on Robert Bittlesworth, Sabre's oldest brother. It has been interesting, and a little scary, to spend so much time in his head.(less)

Cookie Time

Next weekend it will be time to renew my annual cookie baking tradition (it’s been awhile). And that means it is time for some of Grace’s gingerbread! If you’ve not read A Common Christmas, this is the gingerbread that Grace Ashman succeeded in hiding from Whit Whitman so that he didn’t eat it all before it was served. If you like to bake for the season try Grace’s recipe:

“If the British had fought half as well as this one kissed, she thought, the Americas would still be a colony.”
Sue London, Saving Persephone

“In her twenties she developed a deep affection for romance, especially enjoying the works of Nora Roberts, Mary Balogh and, most recently, Rose Gordon, Courtney Milan, Lauren Royal, Danelle Harmon, and Diane Farr. You can thank those authors for leading a sci-fi tomboy into writing historical romances set in the Regency period.”
Sue London, Athena's Ordeal

“Thucydides wrote, ’Hatred is short lived but that which makes the splendor of the present and the glory of the future remains forever unforgotten’.”
Sue London, Trials of Artemis
